Tested by Luxe Magazine: Brunch at Prunier with Yannick Alléno

A well-known Parisian institution in the 16th arrondissement, avenue Victor-Hugo, has been taken over by Yannick Alléno, who has launched a Sunday brunch that we've been testing.

Prunier, a remarkable Art Deco showcase

The Prunier restaurant is a veritable Art Deco masterpiece, where every detail of the décor has been designed by renowned mosaic artists, engravers and sculptors. The harmony of the mosaics, the large counter and the elegance of the setting offer an unparalleled visual experience. This environment, both historic and modernized, gives the place a truly unique ambience that alone justifies a visit.

The arrival of Yannick Alléno marks a turning point for Prunier. The Michelin-starred chef not only designed the new menu, but also entrusted the kitchen dreams to Fabien François, a trusted chef. The menu celebrates seafood, with a focus on fish, shellfish and house caviar, while offering meat options to vary the pleasures. The restaurant's great classics, such as the Christian Dior egg and oysters in almond milk with dill, are revisited with boldness and finesse.

Elegant, gourmet Sunday brunch by Prunier

Prunier's latest initiative is to open its doors on Sunday lunchtimes for a refined brunch at €98. The brunch is distinguished by its diversity, offering a range of viennoiseries, vegetal creations and seafood specialties. Of course, we feasted on slices of salmon, soft and tasty, but also on asparagus mimosa, crab in a rather surprising surprise and tried the selection of finger sandwiches, even if it wasn't our favorite, not forgetting the 'oysters, a must-try. To complete this gastronomic experience, I chose an avocado toast appetizer and a unilateral salmon dish, served at the table, offering a perfect introduction to the culinary pleasures that Prunier knows so well how to offer.
