Spirit of design at the Richmond Nua Wellness in Turkey
One hour and a half away, to the South of Istanbul, the Richmond Nua Wellness Spa Hotel, located on the bank of the Lake Sapanca and equipped with a unique Spa in Turkey, playing on exquisite design. The architect, Murat Kader, has worked on the effects of transparency, using an abundance of glass, mirror, water, stone and wood. His idea is to give space, light and to bring out the bluish depths of the lake as well as it natural environment. Mission accomplished! And Luxe-magazine has visited the place for you. Here is our verdict!
A contemporary hotel
As soon as you enter the hotel, the lobby gives you the idea. The hotel is bathed in a tremendous light and the decoration is contemporary. Here you can find a seventies touch, with strict lines and sophisticated details, to the point of sobriety. Pale or flashy colours invade the common parts and the bedrooms.
The slogan of the place, beyond gourmet food, is simple. It follows the dream of an uncluttered style, which spreads itself away from the local tendency, dedicated to old style.
The bar, the master piece
Everything starts from the lobby where a huge spiralled sky blue pouf welcomes the visitors. But the master piece surely remains the bar which one can reach by crossing over a small bridge.
Four glass storeys accessing the bedrooms and the suites as well as the Stone, the restaurant with its mezzanine surrounding it. One amusing and original detail: on each side, the glass walls of the lifts offer a panoramic view on the lobby.
To finish it off, an enormous glass roof, which opens in the summer, projects a halo of natural light during the day and plays with colours at night thanks to a system of dimmer and fibre optics. Reds, blues, and greens create a mysterious atmosphere every night.
Stripped bedrooms and suites
Stripped space, light and furniture remain the main theme of this unusual hotel. The same concept can be found in the bedrooms and the suites.
At the Q floor (6th floor) dedicated to VIPs, a library, a private room with a billiard and a terrace, as well as the Q Restaurant, are at the clients' disposal.
All the bedrooms with balcony have a view on the lake. But give priority to the junior suites on the 6th floor which offer a superb view on the lake again and have terraces. This is particularly enjoyable to take your breakfast under the first rays of sun.
The spa: a futuristic architecture
Here you find the same design spirit. Fibre optics, marble, glass and stone are make up its decoration.
In this muffled atmosphere, its 21 cabins and its humid rooms are an invitation to share a moment of confidence and relief. A unique world built on 2700 m² and dedicated to baths and beauty. A treat for your body and soul with different atmospheres such as an aqua park with its sprays, massages, special treatments and steam baths with herbs or salt. Not to mention the sauna, astonishing with its mezzanine and made of centenary kelo wood from Finland. To freshen up, chose the snail shower, the Ice Cave (- 10°) or the Aqua Cave, a gigantic artificial rock that offers recreational aquatic activities. Finally you can rest in the Roman "tepidarium", the hot water beds, or in the rest room with its ergonomic beds.
Treat yourself to the "Nua Spirit" Suite
Chromotherapy, aromatherapy or massages... Here, the rituals of the world are combined with the Thalgo or St Barth treatments. The choice is large with each treatment offering an initiatory journey through vital energy and true serenity.
My advice is to try a four-hand massage and a ritual in the "Nua Spirit" suite. With its hexagonal shape, the room is divided in alcoves in which to receive treatment, a bath, a massage as well as a small rest room. In the background the gentle music of running water, gives rhythm in the murmur of eternity. This is a real break where stress does not have any place.
After a well-deserved night of complete rest, a dive into the blue pool before lazing in a hammock to the sound of singing birds seems to be the most appropriate. Doesn't it sound like paradise?
