Go ski this winter!

Ski fans are keeping a close eye on the sky this winter as the weather watchers continue to pronounce the certainty of global warming and its repercussions for future holiday makers... This year, talk of snow means you should still be able to find that white gold and all that it promises for a downhill winter. Armed with high-tech snowboards and stylish equipment, the winter poplulation is out in force after heavy early snowfall. However, thoughts of whether it will last are never far from mind...

Got the itch to ski?

The familiar sound of snow crunching under foot, distant village bells ringing, the pure air and the joy of a steaming hot chocolate in hand...ah, these are the memories of our winter skiing trips! There are those who will have us study the geography of the mountains, and who are on the look out for the first snow flakes... an entire winter economy dependant on the good will of the skies. At the end of the day, the Alpine ski resorts - some years without their thick mantle of snow - have been finding themseleves less and less frequented. Skiers are going to Austria, Poland, Bulgaria, or further afield to Colorado, Patagonia, Quebec or even Dubai for more exotic venues. With global warming, some ski devotees have emigrated to find their beloved white gold. Don't despair, whilst waiting for new snowfall, there are always the exceptional spas with which to console oneself. Maybe the mountains are reinventing themselves....
