Sony launches Alpha 900
Tip for (very) well-informed amateur photographers and professionals alike : with Alpha 900 out, Sony has now positioned itself in direct competition with major players such as Canon and Nikon. Nowadays, it is clear that after having swallowed up Konica-Minolta, Sony is playing on the turf of the major players...of the photo industry.
A warm welcome for a race animal
The professional press seems unanimous, forgetting the very…. professional price of the Alpha 900: we have a real race animal here. The icing on the cake : an absolute record for definition with no less than 24 megapixels! This is really a top-of-the-range reflex with sensitivity varying from 100 to 3200 (with the possible extension of up to 6400 ISO). It also benefits from a shutter speed from 1/8000 to 30 seconds, and of a shooting mode capable of taking 5 images per second. In addition, it comes with a large LCD screen with a 3-inch (7.5 cm) diagonal and a 921,600 pixels resolution.
A gem of a technology
Not only is the resolution amazing, but Sony has also enhanced this device by using different technologies, particularly the glass pentaprism viewfinder, the fuzzy detection mechanism and last but not least, SteadyShot Inside image stabilization technology. The added value: you will thus benefit from stabilisation with all of the lenses that you install on a body, without having to invest in stabilized optics. Long live your passion in high definition!
