Robopolis : a Sunday evening back on earth !

From Blade Runner to I, Robo including the hilarious Woody and the Robots, a science fiction world controlled by robots has always nourished an imagination tainted by fascination-repulsion. And Robopolis substitutes a simpler and playful universe where robots take on household chores and multimedia without any complaints. And isn’t life beautiful?

May the strength of the robot be upon us

Paris 2008. While the entire family is cheerfully digesting a Sunday meal, up surges that crazy idea, shared by all present, to see E.T., the Extraterrestrial for the 15th time around and everyone is caught up in a moment of collective euphoria. To reinforce the sound signals, R2-D2 clumsily enters into the living room. With the "cockpit remote control" in his hand, the unshakable head of the family activates the audio and video sockets logically situated at the back of this droid that instinctively, pivots and projects the images on the wall up to 5 metres. After the session, little Justin plugs his iPod in the  Dock iPod of the robot while his mother inserts the memory card of her digital device in the nearby reader.

A house under top surveillance...

Later on, when everyone gets back home, Scooba, the autonomous cleaner robot starts wisely getting on with the cleaning. Vacuuming enthusiastically the crumbs from the whole wheat bread and other scraps accumulated under the table, it pours on cleaning solution and gets ready to meticulously brush the surrounding 60 m2 surface. Tiles or glazed wooden floor get the same workout. Hardily sliding under the furniture, carefully avoiding any obstacles, the brush-broom of modern times comes across on its itinerary Roomba 580, the robot vacuum cleaner that is not afraid of the most resistant carpets with the toughest stains. Not far from there is Rovio, the explorer robot, a kind of little brother to the Big Brother, that faithfully examines each room of the house with its camera and its integrated WIFI connection. It is Uncle William, who is, in fact, remotely steering it at a distance of 5 835 km; he frankly admits that, his favourite morning pastime is to observe, from his New York position, the life of his family and to chat with them through Rovio.
Once their tasks are over, each of the droids docilely return to their base, ready to affront the next day.
