The scenery of Tyrol will get you yodelling

Yodel ay hee hoo! Difficult to resist the call of Tyrol... a region abundantly blessed by nature; a spa that nourishes our imagination and relaxes our sore, rather abused muscles; a gourmet treat and too-good-to-be true physiques; breathtaking ski slopes; Christmas markets; all in a Tyrolean atmosphere, you cannot do better for a complete change of scenery. I’ve made up my mind, it is going to be the Austrian Alps, this winter!

I am going to go skiing in the winter paradise

Alpine skiing, or downhill skiing, snowboard or free ride, sledging in the moonlight, but also snowshoe rides, by foot or sledge... It is clear why, every year, the “Alpine Republic" attracts more travellers looking for spaciousness, sensations and simply pure air.
Are you looking for a grandiose and friendly region ? Then head for Innsbruck, with its 25 charming villages and 270 kilometres of ski slopes that extend up to 2,020 metres high!
For winter sports enthusiasts, curling or ice-skate fans, hike or downhill skiing lovers, a stop at Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is a must. To put it all in a nutshell: 147 km of ski slopes (including 110 km for downhill skiing) and 24 refuges and mountain restaurants.

If you are looking for a child-friendly vacation spot, then take your family to the Wilder Kaiser region which is without a doubt the ideal place to ski under optimal snow and security conditions. The giant penguin of KinderKaiserland, trains that wander all the way to secret caves and magic carpets will probably continue for a long time to fill the dreams of your youngsters...

At last, those who share an appreciation for the most refined luxury, connoisseurs of romantic charm and an overwhelming joie de vivre, 4 and 5 star hotels, a whole slew of restaurants, luxury boutiques and very colourful events, then the Alps of Kitzbühel (between an altitude of 800 to 2 000 metres in fact) should fill the heart of the most blasé.
And that’s not all ! The language of Molière is clearly practiced in this French-speakingTyrol. What’s left ? Time to draw up your program with the help of the hotel staff and to schuss down the ski slopes!

Couldn’t get any closer to Mother Nature...

The environment is not taken lightly in Tyrol, on the contrary. Renewable energy, solar installations, wind turbines and other environment-friendly alternatives are popular here while, nearby, in the neighbouring mountains, a winter wonderland unravels. Here amongst chamois, foxes, hares and martens, all the majestic wildlife of Tyrol is in full glory in winter, so that hard-die urbanites who have landed here, are more than happy to discover the joys of getting back-to-basics. In the evening, we get an immense pleasure out of living in harmony with nature, at its own pace, for example the high altitude restaurant SunnaAlm (at Pitztal), the highest chalet with a passive energy system of the Alpine area or even the organic Florian hotel (at Reith bei Kitzbühel) justifiably considered to one of the Austrian pioneers of ecotourism. And not without reason, as this establishment is powered by wind turbines, or solar and environmental friendly diesel installations, as well as by a small hydraulic facility. Hotel Crystal at Obergurgl, can pride itself in being the first hotel in Austria to date, to be 100% heated with renewable energies.

And last but not least, those who are passionate about spas and wellness will enjoy Vier Jahreszeiten Hotel at Maurach am Achensee. Here the 150 m2 solar installation is used for sanitary water heating, as well as heating of the covered swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and swimming area. Relaxation without any guilty pangs!
