Great Britain: It’s raining stars!

Incredible, isn’t it? No less than 14 restaurants have been awarded stars by the Great Britain Michelin Guide. Follow Luxe Magazine to discover the Guide...

A star under the limelight of international gastronomy

Those days are long gone - and we don’t expect any regrets either - when British gastronomy taken in its summum, boiled down to a choice between the quaint "fish and chips" or the never failing "yorkshire pudding" served with "mint sauce". Granted, British cuisine has noble credentials, but one thing for sure is British cuisine can hardly rival with the cuisine of its nearby neighbours... But hurray victory is nigh! The new Great Britain Michelin Guide has reset the time clock to zero: 30 new stars are now shining in the gourmet sky across the Channel, for a total of 133 stars.

Hurray, all the same... and thank God for women !

Scotland, England and London are catching up with our culinary whims and each year are gaining in prestige. In addition to the traditional award-winners, for the fourth year in a row, the « Rising star » highlights establishments likely to gain a star or two in the following year. All glory and honours go to Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester. Another source of satisfaction for us French is to see how much our fellow countrymen are brandishing the colours of our country, especially when it comes to women, well represented in the vintage 2009. There’s Hélène Darroze in Connaught, who has received a star for her cuisine inspired by the Landes that she hails from. Another good reason to book your ticket for the British capital!
