The Taha'a: a Robinson-Crusoe adventure without roughing it

Often exotic dreams take on the colours of a Polynesian island. They offer the vision of stretches of beach on end where water trimmed with silvery foam gently hisses on pearly sand, where the light is so dazzling that it almost hurts, where transparent lagoons can boast of turquoise reflections. Not far from Raiatea, the MotuTautau, the long white sand bank situated in the middle of a lagoon is the setting of this unique hotel, Taha'a Pearl Beach Resort & Spa.

Bungalows that opted for romanticism

Buried under lush vegetation or perched on stilts, the bungalows play the Robinson-Crusoe adventure, with a real spirit of romanticism. They are a preview of happiness.
All bungalows have been designed with respect for the surrounding nature. Noble materials were used such as miki miki wood –a tree of Tahiti reefs or stones, softened by round and polished forms. The fusion with natural elements predominates. Woven ropes, roofs in pandanus (palm leaves) and wooden frames sing the praises of local craftsmanship.

A mixed cuisine

Three restaurants, la Plage, alongside the pool, la Vanille or Ohiri at the heart of exuberant flora, offer exquisite culinary experiences.
Unusual contrasts and associations can be found on the menu. The papaya chutney with ginger served with a roquette salad accompanies a stuffed goose liver with vanilla. In the shade of palm trees, guests can sample a grilled lobster or a tuna fish finger of bread marinated with smoked tea from China.

Swim with lemon sharks

Those who are passionate about scuba diving will be delighted. Going from sea caves to cliffs and walls, from lagoons to reefs, divers make their way in this environment of spectacular coral formations, red sponges and multi-coloured polyps in compact masses. In this giant aquarium, others will discover lemon sharks, black tip or hammerhead sharks, manta skates with their babies or even barracudas. Great material for a photo album or at least wonderful memories.

A sensual and refined atmosphere

At the Manea Spa, in the evening air, the powerful aroma of ylang-ylang and the Tahitian tiaré,blend with subtle fragrances of frangipani trees and jasmine, and revitalise one’s senses. Under the shade of a coconut tree, between a little lake and a turquoise lagoon, this spa cultivates a sensual and refined atmosphere where gentle beauty treatments are in harmony with the scenery.

On the way back, feet dragging in the sand, hand-in-hand, gazing at the silvery moon in the stars, we really feel that it is just the two of us on this earth.
