Indeed the Knight ofOrsay, who cultivated a unique art of living and exceptional dress styles. Gustave Doré, Berlioz, Alfred de Vigny or Lamartine were sensitive to the personality of this complete artist, painter, sculptor, and ... luxury alchemist. It was in 1830 that he imagined his first fragrance. He became a perfume composer, and this chemist with a delicate nose recorded his formulas, which today, are very preciously preserved. This olfactory legacy gave birth to the Compagnie Française des Parfums d’Orsay, which elaborated legendary fragrances presented in flasks signed Lalique, Baccarat... More than 5 million flasks were sold in 1931!
