Under the Cambodian sun!
Peace at Amansara!
Amansara takes its name from the word ‘peace’ and it is certainly no understatement.
Situated in the middle of the temples of Angkor, this former residence belonging to King Sihanouk, then became a holiday villa hosting dignitaries like Jacqueline Kennedy and Charles de Gaulle. It recently underwent a refurbishment under the architectural talents of Kerry Hill. The philosophy of Aman resorts is simple: create an intimate and serene universe in a green setting in the centre of Siem Reap. The hotel has 24 suites, 12 of which have private swimming pools, a spa, a large library... everything to subliminate your stay in a secluded environment.
A temple of rest
The Heritage Suites Hotel ‘ is the one and only ‘ Relais and Chateaux hotel in Cambodia. It is a small charming hotel, romantic and cosy allowing you to bask after a long day of visiting the Buddhist temples. The accommodation, in a colonial style house of bamboo, amongst lotuses and perfumed water lilies, encourage meditation.
But the must is the private jacuzzi and the immense bowled bath tub in front of the bay window opening onto the gardens. This temple of peace is in the middle of one of the most beautiful archaeological sites of the world.
A little closer to the stars...
Away from the bustle of Siem Reap, the ‘Hotel de la Paix ’ is appropriately named.
No sooner you enter the impressive facade than a feeling of calm overcomes you. The stifling Cambodian heat is left outside and you are seduced by the fusion of Art deco and ancient Khmer architecture. At the heart of the patio, you can contemplate dreamily the tree of life which thrones in the middle of the ponds, mulling over the essential oils massage that awaits you at the Spa and its incredible lotus petal bath. Your taste-buds will be seduced by the Cambodian flavours reinterpreted by the French ChefJoannès Rivière, whose dishes are directly inspired by the local gastronomic cuisine!
