Chivas goes Westwood
After Christian Lacroix and Alexander McQueen among others, it’s Vivienne Weestwood’s turn to design a new adornment for Chivas 18 years of age. "Dame Vivienne Westwood", as she is called across the Channel after having received in 2006 the title of "Dame of The British Empire" from her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, wanted to wrap the Chivas bottle in an elegant tailor-made Union Jack coloured silk mantle for the end of year festivities, displaying the Scottish origins of the brand. The tasting of this prestigious blend comfortably installed by the fireplace will even be more enjoyable.
Chivas Regal 18 years of age: an art.
To start with the assembling for the Chivas Brothers by Colin Scott, master assembler of the brand, who uses and abuses his experience, patience and inspiration to develop this prestigious whiskey, result of an assembling of the best Scottish spirits.
Result: a range of subtle flavours with, for the soft palates, dried fruit, butterscotch and dark chocolate with a slight hint of leather and spices, full bodied and delicate at the same time.
Now we understand why Vivienne Westwood insisted, when dressing this bottle, that the Chivas name should be embroidered in gold thread to underline its precious character. The famous British stylist, well-known for her non-conformism, created for this occasion, a contemporary design of refined luxury in a unique glamourous style.
For the Chivas Brothers, the genius of the " Queen of British fashion" blends very well together with the luxurious universe of the whiskey brand.
