The most beautiful yacht in the world is…nearly French!

It is to yachts, what the Miss World competition is to beautiful young girls around the world: a huge accolade. On the 7th May 2011, it was the Zefira that took home the two prizes; Best Sailing Yacht in 45m and Sailing Yacht of the Year. And the interior designer at the helm is none other than a Frenchman.

Minimalistic and light

The sixth World SuperYachts Awards2011 was a huge event, bringing together some 100 competitors and 62 finalists. The 15 members of the international jury who voted overwhelmingly in favour of the 50m yachting sloop, Zefira, were not wrong: although it was the spacious contemporary interior combining white wood and refined, gleaming white leather that seduced them, they were also overawed by the 4 double cabins each with en suite bathroom. It is a truly pure and harmonious design in which light and the sea resound delightfully, and minimalistic furniture blends straight lines and organic curves to provide a comfortable, serene environment. This wonderful contrasting style has earnt it the award of Best Sailing Yacht in the 45m + category, as well as Best Sailing Yacht of the year. A magnificent feat.

A fine team

At the helm of this little gem are a number of experts, with the yacht plans being produced by Dubois NavalArchitects, the manufacturing carried out in New Zealand by Fitzroy Yachts and the interior design as conceived by the quintessentially French, Remi Tessier, considered one of the greatest interior yacht designers in the world. And for good reason, since every yacht he has created has won an award. An accolade that he fervently maintains.
