Heidelberg the romantic German city

If you are thinking about a romantic escape in Europe for this winter, Heidelberg might just be the place you're looking for. One of Mark Twain’s favorite cities reveals its wonders with an interesting winter agenda.
A city to dream away

Anyone discovering this German baroque city will be amazed by its treasures. The renewed theater, the Neckar River with its Old Bridge and the Castle ruin nestled in the forest, are the ideal stage for the many festivals and activities the city proposes. The year 2012 will open with the well known Heidelberg Piano Week at the Deutsch American Institute, one of the oldest Think Tanks of the region. Internationally reknown pianists, as well as rising stars will play for this special edition of the Paino Week. The month of January will continue with the 10th Cabaret and Revue, a two weeks festival celebrating the 30’s with comedies, cabaret, music and stand-up. Taking place in the Karlstor Train Station, these shows light up the entire city with smiles and good mood. From February to March, the city will be the scene of the "schöner lügen", a typical German music festival of traditional songs and ballads. Heidelberg is the ideal destination for people seeking the unusual with a romantic note.
