Jaeger-LeCoultre, simplicity and complexity

At the SIHH, the Salon International de la haute Horlogerie 2012 in Basel, the Swiss manufacturer Jaeger-LeCoultre presents three outstanding new time keepers honoring the long tradition of innovation and perfection of the house. Focus on the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon.
The hegemony of the Tourbillon

Jaeger-LeCoultre always had perfection and innovation as a motto. To insure this perfection, the Swiss manufacturer uses one of the hardest tests in watchmaking, the 1000 Hours Control. Quality and sturdiness can not be doubted when a watch has passed this test. This is of course the case for the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon. Its pink gold case frames a dial on which the observer’s gaze is inexorably drawn towards the tourbillon at 6 o’clock. The greatest complexity of all, invented in the latter years of the 18th century, finds in this watch a profound tribute. Set against an eggshell-white dial, the applied pink gold hour-markers retain the modesty required to avoid distracting the gaze from the true focus of attention. An incredible realisation considering the size of the case, measuring 40 mm in diameter and an incredible 11.3 millimetersthin. A wonderful achievement that combines both simplicity and complexity, the true essence of modern luxury, by the timeless watchmaker, Jaeger-LeCoultre.
