Culinary travels, ILTM’s new focus

With the ILTM Asia 2012 taking place in Shanghai between the 4th and the 7th of June, the question of new trends in the traveling business is once against raised. And it appears that experiencing local culture through cuisine is a key trend for high-end travel agents planning 2013’s itineraries.

Travel the World of Taste

As a fast growing market, the travel business undergoes numerous changes of trends and ILTM is the meeting point for discussions between the actors that matter in the business. This years' Asian edition highlights the growing importance of gastronomic experiences throughout travels. Most stakeholders already reacted to this new change and Asian travel-agents have already organised tours evolving around the palate. ‘Luxe India’, a member of ‘XO Private’, will profile its newly designed trip that explores India through culinary experiences, highlighting this as the only way to truly understand this country of contradictions. Europe is also a fast moving market, with Spanish expert "Plenia Spain" presenting at the ILTM its four day tour in the Asturian region, focused on regional gastronomic specialities, whereas France introduces "Château de Mercuès", the ultimate oenological trip. As a fast growing destination, South America follows the trend with "Aqua Expeditions", a subtle blend between cruising down the Amazon River and enjoying gourmet cuisine. To learn about the powerful change the travel market is undergoing, the ILTM Asia 2012 is the ultimate reference in the world of luxury travelling.
