Vivienne Westwood: Atumn-Winter Collection 2013
Over the years the Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label has collected ideas from history from all over the world, but the collection remains British. This of course applies to all designers, they interpret according to their national perspective. Anyway, perhaps there is no city more cosmopolitan than London.
Vivienne goes British
The new Autumn-Winter 2013 Collecion of Vivienne Westwood shows an interest in all aspects of tailoring; masculine-Savile Row inspired long velvet trimmed Edwardian jackets, clean white shirts and Jermyn Street stripes and feminine tailoring- with checks and tartans. For evening looks paper taffeta and duchess in checks, stripes and block colours make up the picture for wrapped and twisted dresses. The more formal ‘portrait’ suits and cocktail dresses are shown alongside traditional ‘smoking’ suits with satin finish wool and glitter stretch.
Environmental Justice Foundation
This Autumn-Winter 2013 show is dedicated to the Environmental Justice Foundation’s (EJF)‘No Place Like Home’ campaign for climate refugees. T-shirts have been designed to support the campaign and raise awareness. The bespoke t-shirts are made using an exemplary low carbon supply chain and are manufactured using renewable green energy. Priced at only £20, these exclusive t-shirts are available online at www.viviennewestwood.co.uk and www.ejfoundation.org/shop.
