The Mondrian London, a new approach

Located on the banks ofthe River Thames, the 1970's building Sea Container's House is about to be entirely renovated by Design Research Studio and Morgans Hotel Group to create the brand new Mondrian Hotel. Scheduled to open early 2014 this important project will bring a breath of fresh air to the world of London's luxury hotels.
A meaningful project

Originally designed by American architect Warren Platner, the Sea Container's House was supposed to be a luxury hotel but building's brief was never fulfilled and instead it remained occupied by offices like the "Sea Container". This will now change as the Morgans Group Hotels is about to transform the building into a luxury hotel. Faithful to its particular history, the hotel will embody the elegance of a transatlantic 1920's liner, combined with a dose of 1980's post-modernism. The vast 1500 m2 ground floor area, will include 2 river-side bars and a breakfast bar and, to emphasise the maritime history, a giant copper clad wall inspired by the hull of a ship welcomes the guests. A massive project in which Design Research Studio will actively participate by furnishing the 360 bedrooms with standout metallic pieces contrasting  with a rich color palette.  The roof-top bar will offer a breathtaking view on London and the Art Deco ballroom will add an element of sophisticated glamour to this tremendous space. The Spa, as always in the Morgans Group Hotels, will be an important part of this new address that we are eager to discover!
