Jaeger-LeCoultre, the Queen's timekeeper

As the nation celebrates Queen Elizabeth’s II sixtieth anniversary of coronation, Jaegar LeCoultre, it seems, are right on “time” with their latest collection. In honor of Her Majesty’s diamond jubilee year on throne, the renowned Swiss watchmaker has re-created their limited edition Reverso watches.

Even though Switzerland is not a direct neighbor, nor a timeless ally of Great Britain, Jaeger-LeCoultre has, with its Reverso watch created profound bonds with England. The story begins in India, in 1931, where the crown's polo players were tired of breaking their expensive watches during the game. This is how the idea of a watch capable of rotating on itself to protect the dial emerged, the Reverso. Six tribute pieces of this timeless timekeeper, the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin, were thus created for the Queen's Jubilee. Embodying the occasion’s spirit, the pieces have all been engraved with the diamond jubilee pageant logo. For those who did not know, Jaegar LeCoultre’s association with the grand event goes beyond the limited edition Reversos. The company is all set to play Official timekeeper of the Diamond Jubilee Pageant. They were presented in Windsor's Castle private gardens in the presence of HRH Elizabeth II. A new page is turned in the long history joining Great Britain and Jaeger-LeCoultre.
