A. Lange & Söhne, German's finest
The A. Lange & Söhne company has its origins in Saxon precision. From a pedigree that dates back to the court of Augustus the Strong, Adolph Lange established his successful watchmaking industry in the town of Glashütte, in the Ore Mountains, during 1868. Over the years, the name A. Lange has become synonymous with elegance in craftsmanship.
Saxon watchmaking
The story dates back to the Middle Ages when the first silver fever started in the Federal State. From then on, Saxony will be known as a place of major innovations and outstanding craftsmanship. Precision watchmaking from the 18th century is deeply rooted in this development. In 1845, long after all the mines where closed, Ferdinand A. Lange decided to move to the Ore Mountains. And, once again, the unique soil of the region gave birth to a second economical growth. Proud of this heritage, A. Lange & Söhne decided to link every watchmodel to a rock of the region, like the Lange 1 Time Zone is linked to the semi-precious stone Agate and the Datograph Up/Down with the Topaz, a gem from the Ore Mountains also known as the " Saxon Diamond ". More than ever the German watchmaker is one of the rocks of the Saxon's culture and wealth.
