Hublot/Word Boxing Council Auction, Las Vegas

September in Las Vegas is the place to be as Hublot and the World Boxing Council combine for the ultimate knockout when, during a VIP event, unique watches, commemorating the world's 12 greatest boxers, are auctioned for the WBC charity.
The pretext to party is that Hublot, luxury brand Swiss watchmakers, and wholly owned susidiary of LVMH, have developed a special and exciting partnership with the World Boxing Council, governing body of the global sport.

“This liason will support our efforts to develop a pension fund for boxers beginning with the auction of the 12 exclusive watches”, explains Hublot chairman, Jean-Claude Biver. “Boxing is the oldest sport on record, dating back to 6000BC, it's the art of fighting with the heart while using the fists”, he adds.

Jose Sulaiman, CEO of WBC, explains: “Hublot has taken the fervour and art of boxing and fused it with the passion and history of the watch world. This synergy has resulted in the creation of 12, unique one-of-a-kind pieces, each commemorating the greatest boxers to grace the ring. Lennox Lewis, Julio Cesar Chavez, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, George Foreman, Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, Oscar de la Hoya, Evander Holyfield, Jeff Fenech and Larry Holmes”.
The Las Vegas event promises to be a knockout, who knows what will happen when the likes of these champions get together to schmooze. “The twelve handsome watches reflect the “fusion” between the fierce competitors of the historic and noble sport of boxing and combine the accomplishments of 450 years of the art of Swiss Watch making.

Over the years, to increase the public profile of their brand, Hublot collaborated in sponsorship deals with marques such as Ferrari and Manchester United Football Club and, in 2010, were appointed Official Watchmaker to Formula 1.

In April 2012 the brand partnered the Swiss Confederation at the World Expo 2012 in South Korea, a 3 month global event, and also showcased their new technically brilliant Divers Watch, the “Hublot Oceanographic 4000 King Gold White” tested to a water resistance of 5000m.

In February 2007, Hublot opened its first mono-brand store in Paris, on Rue Saint-Honoré. The second launched in the summer of that year, at Hôtel Byblos, Saint-Tropez.
Today there are flagship stores on Bond Street, London and in Beijing. Stores in the United States are located in Las Vegas, Bal Harbour (FL), New York City, Boca Raton (FL) Beverly Hills and Palm Beach Island.
Hublot continue their strong sponsorship and partnership activities in 2012 becoming the Official Watch of the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament and as Official Timekeeper of the tournament.
“For fans of Boxing and of brand Hublot, this Las Vegas auction is a one-off opportunity to be part of an extraordinary event to shake hands and get up close and personal with the legends of boxing”, says Jean-Claude Biver.
