Corsican Spring in La Signoria.
Just a stone’s throw off Calvi and its fortress, la Signoria just reopened its doors. What a better opportunity to taste the Corsican Spring in the newly remodelled « Seigneurie », now part of the Relais & Château hotel resorts?

Love at first sight! That’s what Jean-Baptiste Ceccaldi felt when he saw this lordly manor in 1986 and decided to transform it into the most splendid residence of one of the nicest Corsican bays.
Everything speaks of quietness and intimacy: the stone floor coolness and the ancient tiling enhance the dark and intense colors of the lobby, creating a sharper contrast with the large bright rooms opening on to the patio. Each fresh and welcoming bedroom has got XXL comfort, some even offering an atypical bathroom: a huge square bath, resembling to those of a Byzantine palace! La Signoria features 29 rooms and spacious suites with garden view or access. Besides La Signoria includes five 100sqm individual houses, called « casettas » with their own garden and private pool with a Jacuzzi.
Corsican Cuisine
To sit at the table of one of the two restaurants, enjoying the splendid view on the southerly garden or on the wild mountains is a wonderful experience to savour the Corsican food specialties and wines, 7 of them being on the Corsican AOC list. The gastronomic restaurant La Palmeraie (3 forks) is noted in the 2014 Michelin Guide as an excellent place for wine, featuring a cellar of 15.000 selected bottles to be paired with a cuisine based on local produce and high quality sea food. The menu changes 3 times a year, to stick as tightly as possible to the season. The hotel also has a more bistrot-like restaurant, Bistrot de la Signoria, or go for a relaxing lunch or dinner and discover the straw hut spirit of Mar a Beach’s delicious cuisine, on the Alga beach.
Beauty “made in scrubland”
La Signoria not only owns a nice all year round heated swimming pool, but it also has a beautiful Spa, Bio Casanera, (opened 2011), inspired by the beauty rituals of the Corsican women, with theuse of local plants from the huge and rich scrubland of the island. Myrtle, everlasting flowers and tangerines marry their flavors in the Casanera beauty line created by Marie Ceccaldi.
