Selfie has invaded the world of Luxury brands. Pucci, Avène, Versace took part of the phenomenon. A throwback of the latest news of this digital trend.

To promote their new scarf collection, the Italian Maison created an iPhone and iPad application using, in its own way, the selfie phenomenon. The app invites you to select a model, add the color and take a selfie. Then, it is possible to adjust the size of the scarf depending on the part of your body (head, wrish or neck) you chose to wear it on. A link redirecting to the Emilio Pucci e-shop is available. By sharing your 'scarfie' with the #PucciScarfie hashtag and the @emiliopucci tag, you might have a chance to appear on the Tumblr of the brand!

Avène analyzes the Selfie



For the launch of the « Couvrance » collection for its Chinese customers, Avène and the Fred & Farid Shanghai Agency broadcasted a decrypting operation based on the trend of the year, the selfie. Thanks to a video retracing all the important moments of the phenomenon and an almost mathematic analysis of taking a selfie often shot from a similar angle, the brand shows that Chineses’ selfies make them look identical on each picture. The message is clear: « it’s time to change the angle».


Brand-Tagging, the trend that invades China



…And soon the rest of the world. Inspired by the selfie phenomenon, mobile apps such asPincoandNiceallow users to upload pictures of themselves and tag the brands on their clothes or accessories (either it's their Chanel bag, their Starbucks Frappuccino, their Dior nail polish and so on). Tags redirect you to the non-official brand pages where you can discover other products of the Maison and why not, getting inspired by this images. We keep an eye on this trend and can’t wait for it to go international.

To promote their new sunglasses collection, Versace launched an in-store and web operation. Thanks to an online platform created for the occasion, you can discover the new #STUDSLADIES collection and get information on the rules of the contest. To win a trip to Italy and assist at a Versace Fashion Show in Milan, you have to subscribe, try on one of the sunglasses of the new collection (in selected stores), take a selfie and share it on Facebook.
