Riccardo Tisci loves New York
The first thing Riccardo Tisci loves about New York is its mix of culture but also the feeling of freedom experienced in the city. As he says: " New York for me is Love "...
During this exclusive interview for CNN, Riccardo tells us more about his first experience in America: he didn't sleep during three or four days because he felt so much adrenaline, he was finally living the American Dream! As soon as he arrived at the airport, he knew he was going to stay and live in New York.

One of the most important things to him in the Big Apple is the streets. Being from the Italian streets, Riccardo can feel the authenticity and honesty emanating from them. The famous designer finds a great part of his inspiration in Harlem streets thanks to the people having a genuine sense of style: from girls with big hair and piercings to guys wearing leather jackets full of logos to youngsters in a total denim-look.
The famous Rottweiler print
As you can see, some of his most famous prints (panther, rottweiler) are coming straight from the streets! Riccardo is obsessed with the symbolic of America ( Mc Donald's, Coca Cola, Nike...), and, if you want to learn a little secret about him, just know that he collects American flags. In fact, you can find a piece of American flag in every collection he made for Givenchy. Everybody also remembers the successful collection made around Bambi character from Walt Disney, another great figure of the American Dream.

Riccardo has another passion: basketball. That's why, in Paris, he created a fashion-show in a basketball court to pay tribute to his childhood. He achieved to bring the culture of a prestigious fashion House to the streets and vice versa. Congratulations!
