The Lobby
1930, right before the Great Depression,The Pierre hotel and its 41 floors estimated at 15 millions of dollars, opens its doors at the corner of 5th Avenue and 61st Street. Cozy atmosphere like in a private club, XXL dimensions and majestic constructions, the hotel becomes the "place-to-be" before being overtaken by the economic crisis. Sold by lots in the 60's, the hotel however regained its legendary success thanks to huge works approaching 100 millions of dollars in 2009. Now part of the Taj Group, The Pierre is still a mythical address, the Upper East Side favorite: luxurious, cozy with a top-quality service. In short, the legend lives on...
