Faena - Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires shelters and a large French, Italian and Spanish community exiled to South America, giving it a very strong European atmosphere. Many hotels have been built or restored to meet an increasing tourist demand, this is the case for the Faena Hotel. Alan Faena and Philippe Starck transformed this former grain elevator into a modern and luxurious hotel, located at the heart of El Porteno, the artist district, in Puerto Madero. Built from imported Manchester stones a century ago, the Belle Epoque building now has a younger look thanks to a spectacular restoration, making it one of the most interesting hotels in the capital. Imagine a red glass-fronted door of 10 meters-high, opening on the "Cathedral", an 80 meters long corridor lit by huge engraved glass windows. Everything about this 15,000 square meters hotel, including the theatrical decor, is larger than life.
Accommodations
The hotel has 110 rooms and suites, spreading over seven floors.
The bedrooms are luxuriously furnished, in a modernized Empire style featuring golden swan neck armchairs, white leather couches, heavy red curtain hangings, thick red carpets and dark brown Lapacho wooden floors.
Service is personalized: the staff member who welcomed you when you entered through the Cathedral will take care of you throughout your stay.
