The new Rocco Forte property opened in Roma
Opened in May, the new Hotel de la Ville is a dynamic new space at the top of the Spanish Steps. Designers Tommaso Ziffer and Olga Polizzi transformed the 18th century palazzo into Rome’s most vibrant hotel, celebrating the rich tradition, history and luxury of the European Grand Tour in a thoroughly modern way.

The 104 well-appointed rooms and suites are among the most elegant and spacious in Rome, while the signature suites offer unparalleled panoramic views of the city from their large terraces. The magnificent City Suite, on the 8th floor and accessible by private elevator, is the jewel of the hotel, furnished with a collection of contemporary and antique furniture and its own art collection. The suite has two panoramic terraces, ideal for entertaining. The designer, Tommaso Ziffer, in collaboration with Olga Polizzi, design director of Rocco Forte Hotels, was inspired by the eighteenth-century Grand Tour, where English and German nobles collected works of art during their cultural journeys in European cities. With the timeless palate as its backdrop, Ziffer recreated a contemporary retrospective of the Grand Tour, taking guests on a journey of fun discovery. In collaboration with local artisans, the sumptuousness of the eighteenth century is woven together boldly and shown through the exhibition of handmade wallpaper by local designers Rubelli and Dedar, rich Italian fabrics and historical tapestries by Zardi & Zardi.

Executive Chef of the Rocco Forte Hotels, Fulvio Pierangelini, has created an eclectic menu ranging from the most classic Italian dishes to modern and creative Mediterranean dishes. The varied offer ranges from the Da Sistina restaurant, which serves authentic trattoria-style dishes with modern touches, to Mosaico, the hotel's main restaurant that serves gourmet Mediterranean cuisine overlooking the inner courtyard. The daring Julep bar offers all sorts of cocktails, while the rooftop bar, aptly named Cielo, will entertain guests with creative drinks, a fusion of aperitifs and memorable views of the Roman skyline.
A lot of spaces to enjoy
Hotel de La Ville - Courtyard
Hotel de La Ville - Courtyard
In the center of the hotel is the enchanted courtyard, a hidden retreat away from the bustling city that embodies the life and spirit of Italy. Merging three buildings into one, the courtyard plan was taken up by George Carter, a designer specializing in the creation of gardens inspired by the simple geometry of the seventeenth century. To be part of the Grand Tour concept, obelisks, remarkable greenery and touches of black and gold give a mystical touch that is romanticized by cautious lighting, reminiscent of ancient candlelit spaces.
De La Ville Spa
Hotel de La Ville - Piazza di Spagna
The 550-square-meter Rocco Forte Spa is the most technically advanced in the capital, offering relaxing and indulgent treatments by a team of expert therapists using Irene Forte Skincare products. The spa is a haven of peace for physical and spiritual well-being, located in the center of the bustling Italian capital.
