Love Fiction: Prix Le Prince Maurice: and the winner is...
The results came on 12th May. The 5th edition of the Prix Le Prince Maurice du Roman d'Amour went to Laurence Tardieu for her perspicacious, never indulgent novel, "Puisque rien ne dure" or "Nothing Lasts Forever".
Love in the Tropics
An idyllic décor, mixing the blue of the ocean with the immaculate power of white sand, with a refined and discrete atmosphere of luxury, the book has received the prize "LePrince Maurice du Roman d'Amour" for romantic fiction in the 5th year of the award. The jury, chaired by Daniel Picouly, acknowledged the powerful novel by Laurence Tardieu as a testimony to the intolerable loss of a child and the impossible period of mourning. Interwoven with a love story which ends badly the novel depicts the tragic course of a child's fight against illness. It is a painful topic, treated with refreshing directness.
The novel emerges triumphant from the trio of finalists of undeniable quality including "Ni toi ni moi" by Camille Laurens and "J'ai épousé Johnny à Notre Dame de Sion" by Fariba Hachtroudi. Bravo to all three!

Here we salute the initiative of the publication of the work in support of the "defence of French Literature" through this and other actions: 4 days of exchange programmes offered to Mauritius schools at the Centre Culturel Français, as well as 2 scholarships offered to 2 students, with the collaboration of the French Embassy. Will there be future laureates, who knows...?
