The Lion King: Roaring with pleasure!
The six-Tony Awards Broadway musical is coming to France at the Mogador Theatre. After 10 years at the top of the bill and some 42 millions enthralled spectators, the French public will now be able to see Simba and the scary Scar with a backdrop of fantastic sets and an amazing production. There must be someone, (a little nephew?), that you could take along?
The must-see show of the holiday
You will probably not escape from it: the King Lion has been roaring since October 4 at the Mogador Theatre and there is much to bet that you will not resist attending the story of the young Simba trying to access the throne despite the machiavelic Scar. The fans will not be disappointed. As for the sceptics or the Disney-phobes, the magic of the show will captivate you.
An international success
The Lion King is a huge production: 42 million spectators in nine countries and in five languages, more than 400 costums, 100 musical instruments and 115 permanent artists on stage every night... But there are many more reasons to go and watch the show. The texts are poetic and the production is audacious and inventive. The soundtrack has been enriched with a more pop-rock and zoulou style that complements well to Elton John's original songs.
The only damper would have to be the translations which are a little bit dull compared to the spirited language of the hyenas and their hilarious accent. This is a real shame but this does not harm the beauty of the show and will not prevent you from happily roaring with your family.
