2007 Château Gigognan " Le clos du Roi"

Between Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the village of Sorgues, the Château Gigognan proudly displays the style of a great Provencal mansion with a remarkable terroir.
Built in the 19th century by the Celestins from Avignon, this domain has been acquired by the owners Anne et Jacques Callet in 1996, transforming it into a world class winery. With 30 acres Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 22 acres Côtes-du-Rhône and 20 acres Côtes-Rhône Villages, each vintage has its own story. The domain uses organic methods in their wineyards, a commitment compensated by obtaining the “organic wine” label this year, certified by Ecocert. The philosophy of Gigognan is to utilise a balanced mixture of modern practices and equipment, and traditional methods in order to produce natural wines of the highest quality. So let yourself be tempted by this Châteauneuf-du-Pape with its ruby/purple colour along with copious black fruit aromas. Full-bodied, with supple tannins, a generous mouthfeel and a long finish. Ideal for food-parings with a spicy lamb tajine, game or beef stew and of course chocolate for dessert. To be served at 16°C.
