The 918 Spyder, Porsche's vision for tomorrow

Many people ask themselves what tomorrows' sports car will be made of and, when we see how the future is shaping, if reality is catching up on science fiction. With its aggressive look, the 918 Spyder by Porsche is a compendium of the new technologies to come.

Nextgen hybrid

Quite many car manufacturers already adopted the hybrid technology in an eco friendly perspective. A more respectful car industry seems to be the leitmotiv, therefore, the 918 Spyder, Porsche's new project of a sportscar, combines hybrid engines with incredible performances. Considered as the successor to the mythical Carrera GT, the 918 Spyder is a powerful beast, able to reach 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, and has a top speed of 325 km/h, which is much faster than its predecessor. But all this means nothing when not combined with greater efficiency and an understanding of tomorrows' goals. The cutting-edge electric motor is a significant improvement in the way we think of sport cars. When started, the car is automatically plugged on "E-Power", a fully electric mode that can cover up to 25 km. In the Hybrid mode, both motors work together for maximum efficiency and low fuel consumption. Finally, the Sport Hybrid mode uses the combustion engines with boosts from the electric one when requested by the driver. We are eager to discover this new car, a great novelty for carsports fans and, not to forget, the planet!
