The Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Countless celebrations and tributes have already taken place in Great Britain and over the world to celebrate HRH Queen Elizabeth II 's 60th year of reign, her diamond jubilee. In this particular occasion, British luxury brand Asprey teams up with photographer Chris Levine for quite an unusual exhibition.

The Diamond Queen

Chris Levine, famous for his technological approach of photography, already realized in 2004 a three dimensional holographic portrait of the Queen, Equanimity. Over 10 000 images were necessary to realize this work that has since then been displaced at the Queen's Gallery in Buckingham Palace. On this year's special occasion, the British luxury jeweler Asprey decided to recreate the Queen's diamond diadem, worn for her Coronation in 1953 and represented on the installation. Over a thousand white brilliant cut diamonds are being painstakingly set in platinum and overlaid onto the original three dimensional image of the Queen. The installation will be exhibited in Asprey's flagship store on New Bond Street and will be sold through sealed offers during the month of June. The benefits of the sale will be donated to two of the Queen's charities. A seminal year in Her Majesty's reign that everyone strives to make special.
