La Traviata
The Italian romantic composer Verdi is unmistakably one of the most influential artists of the 19th century. Inspired by Alexandre Dumas's Dame aux Camélias, La Traviata tells the story of the famed courtesan Violetta Valery, and her complex love story with nobleman Alfredo Germont. Verdi's masterpiece staged in the Années Folles, the second most performed opera after Mozart's Magic Flute, will without any doubt be one of the highlights of the Mauritian cultural season.
