The Art of Cartier at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum

Some 400 pieces from the historic Cartier Collection of the legendary French jewelers are on display at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza from October 2012 to February 17th 2013.
Craftsmanship and Creativity

Among the most famous pieces, and of particular interest to Spain, the Garland-style tiara given to Queen VictoriaEugenia by King Alfonso XIII in 1920; an exceptional loan – made possible by the royal family – of this tiara worn by Queen Sofia during official events. Other pieces include Art Deco jewels and gold jewelry of the thirties and forties as well as commissions for personalities such as Wallis Simpson, Grace Kelly, María Félix, Elizabeth Taylor and Coco Chanel.
This exceptional exhibit allows us to appreciate the craftsmanship and creativity of Cartier’s unique designers and artists.
