Mustn't Miss!

Here are a couple good, oh, so good! addresses not to be bypassed: although one week-end in London isn’t long enough to taste all the cuisines the city can offer you, here are three gourmet addresses Luxe Magazine carefully picked up for you.

The Brown’s

The Brown’s already sailed ahead of its time when it opened a restaurant inside the hotel, at a time when the guests used to dine in their rooms. Today, everybody who’s somebody in London flocks to the HIX at the Albermale to pay their respects to the Scottish chef’s famous crab soup and leg of lamb on a straw nest. The revisited British cuisine is served in designer Philippe Hurel’s newly decorated restaurant: sumptuous wood panelling, vaulted ceilings and green seats, complimenting talented artists’ offbeat works, such as Tracey Emin’s neon.

Atelier Joël Robuchon

The world-renowned French chef, whose successful restaurants cater to all kinds of celebrities, opened a London “Atelier” proposing an exquisite cuisine in an original setting: a building between Covent Garden and Leicester Square, totally painted black. Emma Watson, Madonna or George Clooney, faithful patrons of the Atelier, absolutely love the lounge bar with a terrace on the last floor, and the black and white Cuisine on the first floor. But the place to be is the ground floor counter with its flamboyant red colors. Stainless steel shelves, transparent jars and vegetated wall serve as a setting to the kitchen team operating in front of the clients, under French chef Olivier Limousin’s magic wand. A thing to see… and to taste!

London stylish restaurants

Crazy and baroque decoration are Sketch’s brand! Each piece is unique, from the glass to the chair, the table, or the silverware. Not withstanding Pierre Gagnaire’s classical cuisine and delicious international wines. Aqua leaves you ecstatic as soon as you cross the door and walk the red carpet toward the two lifts: one up to AquaNueva, the chic restaurant dedicated to refined Spanish dishes; the other one to Aqua Kyoto, a show-in-the-kitchen Japanese cuisine restaurant, both in a soft atmosphere due to the pearly velvet curtains and their terraces overviewing the London roofs. Last but not least, don’t miss Kensington Roof Gardens, a Chelsea private restaurant, with a huge garden on the roof graced with roses, lavender, live-in flamingos and ducks. An ideal location to escape and nearly forget the noisy city down under !!!
