Roland Mouret, a beautiful collection introduced at London National Theatre
French designer Roland Mouret, also Creative Director for Robert Clergerie and former model for Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alaïa and Yamamoto, introduced his Autumn-Winter 2018 collection at London National Theatre. Zoom.
"The Eyes of Laura Mars"
For this Autumn-Winter 2018 Collection, Roland Mouret has been inspired by the legendary 70's thriller by Irvin Kershner : "The Eyes of Laura Mars". That's why, the collection introduces strong women wearing baroque jacquard, lurex georgette and velvet corduroy. A mix between masculine influences and the reaffirmation of the strong and mature femininity.
We love how Roland Mouret reintroduced tailoring with specialized techniques to orchestrate volumes and structures as outerwear in patent leather, alpaca and Prince of Wales check but also double-breasted jackets, trench coats and capes. Moreover, sheer knits add a light and delicateness to the offering, finished with ruffled collars, the pieces lending themselves to the dynamic duality of the collection.
As for the accessories, we loved the lace socks paired with sandals, genuine tribute to a Playboy Magazine from the 70's and to the mantra : "We all dress to undress". Sexy and powerful !
